I went to the Big Island for my brother's wedding in Kona two weeks ago. It was truly and eye-opening experience, so I've decided to move there for about a year after I get my undergrad. I would love nothing more than to be immersed into such a humbling culture. Life there would be so much simpler - the way it should be. I loved surfing. It was one of the most spiritual experiences I've ever had with nature. There were a million colorful fish swimming in the reef below me and the occasional sea turtle popping it's head up for air. Finally understanding the ride of the wave was more than merely being able to keep my balance and steer the board - I finally accomplished learning something that I've wanted to do my entire life. I yearn for the day that I will be able to do that at my leisure. Thankfully, my parents are in full support of my decision. Supposedly, Mark Twain lived there for a while as well. He surfed, wrote for the paper, and eventually wrote his first book. Clearly, he then began his career. I think being there will do the same for me. I have far too many interests to narrow it down, and perhaps I'll end up doing a lot of different things. I can only hope that Hawai'i will help inspire me to find what it is that I'll spend the rest of my life doing. It's risky, but I couldn't be more excited.

J and I had a photoshoot today in the early hours of the morning. I finally got pictures legit enough to post to LOOKBOOK.nu. It's been about seven months since I last posted a look - pretty ridiculous! I hope to get a little better about it. I've simply been far too apathetic about the interweb lately. Eh. That's probably not so bad.

P.S. Still not completely in love with the new blog header. Any thoughts? I'll probably do an entire blog revamp soon - if I find the time and willpower that is.

I would never say that I have everything figured out because 1) that's not at all something I'd want to boast and 2) it's highly improbable. I do, however, finally feel as though I'm living the way I'm supposed to be. I can't remember the last time I felt this kind of joy - I'm incredibly thankful for the way my life is going right now. I still have much to accomplish (in the foreseeable future and in life in general), but fulfillment is a possibility for me now and I feel confident enough to say that. Not only can I see it but I've found the motivation I've been needing (and might I add, it's been a long while since my search for this motivation began). It's been quite a while since I've blogged about my personal life, but this seemed to be something worth sharing.

Well, summer's almost over! I am actually pretty anxious about school this semester. I'm ready to do things right. I hope everyone's summer has been fantastic - and that the rest will be even better!

So, many, many things have occurred since my last post:

1. I went to Bonnaroo - got to see some of my favorite musicians ever!

2. I visited Nashville for the first time (and stayed with Daysha, of course!).

3. I've decided that after I graduate, if not after the next two semesters, I'm definitely moving to Nashville. I'm convinced that it's where I need to be for a while.

4. I enjoyed a couple of days at home and met some lovely neighbors.

5. I went to Mountain Home with J and Caleb. We went out on the lake with my family and I met some of their really great friends.

A lot is changing. It's difficult to remember to update my life to the rest of the world.

Well, Spring Break has been ever so consuming. I moved into my house on Saturday and every action since has been related to just that. It's been exhausting, but certainly worth it. I was finished with my classes for the day at 11:50 (as I normally am on MWF), and was in desperate need for a nap, but couldn't seem to fall asleep until 4PM. Consequently, I slept until 7 or so. I didn't get around to starting homework until after 10. I've gotten into a terrible habit of this.

So, here I am -- procrastinating yet again. I have a paper to write, but I can't make myself do it just yet. I'd rather blog about not doing it (and needing to). I know James must be tired of hearing about it. :]

Oh! It's just so difficult to bounce back after such a fun weekend. I went to Jonesboro on Friday. We played poker all night and woke up on Saturday to go to Memphis for the day! We got sushi and went to the zoo, which was fascinating. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like hauling my huge camera around in my bag all day, but James and I did stop in for a little photobooth session (at a whopping $5)!

In other news, I should be moving into my house on Friday. I can't think of a better way to spend my Spring Break: spending time on my first home. I'm more than excited.

Ever since my parents have gotten more serious about getting my house, I've had my mind geared towards interior design ideas. I'm constantly searching for inspiration from blogs, antique shops, and some online stores.

I was shopping on Anthropologie today and found some very intriguing utensil decor.

Exhibit A: The "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry" Chandelier

I love this. I'm sure it was handmade, which explains the price tag, but I think I may like to try to do this myself. I find it wonderfully unique.

Exhibit B: Flatware Wallpaper

I think I have to get this. I simply love the idea (but not the price).

Exhibit C: Antique Spoon Hook

This is a must, but it will most certainly be a DIY. It would be so simple - too simple not to do.

This very strange week has definitely seen it's peek (and on "hump day" thank God!). I am currently winding down after a night of dinner with the parents to some Cold War Kids and a glass of Zinfandel from the California trip.

This is my very cluttered desk. I love it. I spend more time here than I do sleeping.

I don't have any wine glasses in my dorm room, so I resorted to my darling coffee mug. It has a terrible problem with dripping, but I find it quite fascinating, especially with the lipstick mark.

Thank you, Redemption Zinfandel, for loosening me up during such a stressful week.

I need nights of solitude with wine more often.

i feel the weight of the world

My life is ridiculously hectic right now. I've just finished packing up all of my belongings (that aren't in my dorm room) to be put in a storage facility until we get the house in Conway. I had a few breakdowns over the course of the day. It's very difficult having to accept the fact that I won't have a home to escape to for a while. That's the whole reason I went to school only 30 minutes away -- so I could come back whenever I need to. It's going to be so, so different now that my mom is moving to Fort Smith (which is two hours away... and not home at all).

I'm coming back into town this weekend 1) to meet James' sisters/brother-in-law/baby niece (and I am incredibly anxious to do so!) and 2) to celebrate with Marly for her birthday weekend (though it's actually Thursday, but I won't be able to see her that day, so we're extending it). The downside is that I'll have to sleep on an air mattress in the empty house. It's going to be quite sad. At least I can somewhat enjoy the house until the renters take possession in a week.

On top of all of this, I have a HUGE paper to write, some other busy work for both my writing and reporting classes, as well as three 18"x24" drawings to finish ALL by tonight. I think I may have to pull an all-nighter. I'm not at all looking forward to it. It's not exactly what I need to follow such a stressful day. This has honestly been the most stressful day of a life (as James would say).

I'm just thankful that God is giving me the strength to get through it all. I truly am.

On a lighter note, my stuff from Urban is in! The jeans are superrr tight and the shirt is a little cheaper looking than I anticipated, but other than that, I love it all!

top five music picks (as of late)

I was lazy with my new music research for a while, but a helpful little bird has motivated me to be much more proactive in my endeavors. It's certainly been an inspiring conquest, so I'd like to share a few of my favorite sounds with everyone!

1. M. Ward's new album Hold Time

I've been listening to it nonstop since it's release less than a week ago. M. Ward is wonderful, and I must say that choosing Zooey Deschanel to accompany him for two of the songs on the album was pure genius. Their voices sound brilliant together. Plus, the album artwork is quite lovely.

2. Animal Collective's new album Merriweather Post Pavilion

Observation 1: THE ALBUM ARTWORK IS TRIPPAYYYY. Observation 2: The song "My Girls" has been stuck in my head for days now. All in all, however, Animal Collective has produced ridiculously amazing albums over the years and it's no surprise that this one was just as innovative. It's a great, great, GREAT listening experience.

3. The Acorn's Daytrotter Session with songs for their album Glory Hope Mountain

The session was released just yesterday and the album was originally released in October of 2007, but it's definitely quite amazing. I've been listening to it when taking breaks from M. Ward. :]

4. The Honey Tree's new EP Wake the Earth

I must say, I've always found their leading lady, Becky Filip, very inspiring. I've kept up with their MySpace updates because the songs would typically be available for a free download. The music is all very whimsical and angelic, which I just love. This is their first EP and it was certainly worth the wait.

5. Noah and the Whale's Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down

This number 5 spot was a tough fill. It was between this and Blitzen Trapper's album Furr. I chose Noah and the Whale because their album is so well made as a collective whole. It's actually perfect for making art. I always take my iPod to my drawing class to get myself in a "flow" and this is usually what I'll put on. It's just got a great consistent beat. Now, about Furr: Blitzen Trapper failed to create a cohesive sound on that album. As much as I love the thing, it's just not top 5 worthy. Sorry, boys.

P.S. When I say "as of late" I actually mean "over the past three days or so."

So, I went to Sonoma County, California this past weekend with my mom, her fiancé, his daughter & her husband, and, of course, my lovely Valentine. It was absolutely wonderful -- even though it was raining all weekend. How in the world is it still ridiculously beautiful there regardless the weather? I ask that, but I'm actually quite happy it's that way or else the trip would have been a little miserable.

So, Tori tagged me in this very creative little thing called "6th folder, 6th photo" where you post a picture from the sixth photo in your sixth picture folder and blog about it.

I'm so glad that this was the picture simply because it's just so me. I found it online when looking for inspiring images. Most who know me well are definitely aware of the fact that I love lions. The lion is my animal. It fully symbolizes my personality (aside from the fact that I'm a dead-on typical leo). The wall decal is wonderful! I love the the pattern and the colors. And, of course, I love, love, love children. This picture just reminds me of what I hope to have one day: beautiful children running around and neat lion related things in my home (not to mention clean walls and hardwood floors as well). The image may just be pretty cute to some, but it fully encompasses what I aspire my life to result in, which, in short, is a happy household filled with love.

Bouncing back from a weekend like this past one has been quite the challenge. Friday was the ever-so-wonderful Cool Shoes. Of course, I danced by limbs off with my new favorite dance partner and was privileged to see more beautiful faces than I ever thought possible. I spent Saturday with Marly, which was much needed. We grabbed lunch at Boulevard and ran a few errands. It was actually a lot of fun. We haven't spend time like that together in too long. My dance partner took me on a "hot date" that night, which consisted of Greek dinner at Layla's, coffee at Starbucks, seeing Slumdog Millionaire (a MUST SEE), watching SNL with Daddy Lepine, picking up his brother from a post-dance party, pigging out, then a sleepover... [It's not quite over yet] The "hot date" fell into Sunday, which consisted of church at Redeemer, "Soup-er-bowl" lunch, the Andy Warhol exhibit (with Marly as well), coffee, church at Vintagenxt (of which I plan to become a regular attendee), then a pseudo-Superbowl watch party at my house with my family. My intention wasn't to bore you with the juicy details, and I apologize if I did, but I can't think of the last time I had such a fulfilling as well as spiritually uplifting weekend.

I've decided to be much more productive. I've gotten lazy because I allowed myself to get a little behind, so when I wasn't doing schoolwork to catch up, I was relaxing due to exhaustion. Now that I'm completely caught up, I want to pick up a few projects. After my current project (which I won't mention because it's a surprise for someone), I plan to do this button beanie:

It won't really take much effort because I have millions of buttons. I just have to find the perfect beanie... and that's going to be tough I'm afraid.

... yet most is not at all worth blogging about. I would simply end up ranting, and that just seems inappropriate to me. However, God has blessed me with many wonderful people and opportunities that are certainly worth mentioning!

1. This weekend I will be going through my endless amount of clothing, as well as my mom's, and figuring out what should be taken to my aunt's new consignment store in the Fayetteville area. She called my mom asking if we had anything because she needs a lot of inventory. Since I'm doing the work for my mom, she's allowing me to keep the money made from her clothes. That means I get half of whatever my aunt sells our things for. I know it will add up quite a bit, and I really could use the money right now. OH! The rest that's not consignment store qualified will be donated to Vintage Nxt's Cotton Plant project.

2. My mom and her fiancé asked me to design a seal for their LLC this weekend -- and they'll pay me for it. Hello?! $$$$$

3. I missed my drawing class on tuesday due to the terrible weather, but my professor, when giving evaluations for our work, told me a) that I could bring the piece I haven't turned in on Tues for full credit and b) that my work is amazing and he's excited to work with me. WHAT?! I was expecting a full critique because I thought what I had already turned in could use some work. Nevertheless, I was ecstatic.

4. I have a wonderful boy waiting for me in Little Rock. Why am I blogging? I need to pack.

COOL SHOES IS TONIGHT! Needless to say, I will be "getting my groove on."

I've been a little consumed with the Brazilian designers' lookbooks from their most recent fashion week (the one I've already posted a few pictures from). I've found a few more designers worth blogging about.

The following are from Animale's collection.

I love the shape that Animale creates with these looks. It flows yet it still flatters perfectly. I particularly love the material choices, the sweaters (one very similar to Alexander Wang's new sweater), as well as the metal toed ankle boots (which they also have in black, though I didn't care for the looks paired with them).

The next few are from Colcci's collection.

I didn't find the collection as a whole to be that great or practical (but what complete lines really ever are?). I did love the heels, though -- TOO much. The first look is wonderful. I love the sweater (as well as the model wearing it -- she's a sweetheart). I found the pairing of the puffy coat with the bathing suit quite interesting... I do love the black onesie, though. I'd sport it in the summer! Also, the black fringe jackets is perfection.

Hello, Amapô!

First of all, I've been avoiding busy patterns for a while now, but if I got my hands on the second look, I'd wear it out. I love the white fringe boots and the beige & black ankle boots are to die for! I find the sequin attempt to be very interesting. If a guy ever tries pull this off, I fully commend him! The first look reminds me of a very glamourous Bob Dylan. :] I do love the guy's boots, though. They're, for lack of a better word, fabulous. Oh! And those hats! They are amazing. I need one.

Last but not least, we have Cori.

Oh, dear... I hope I dress similar to this when I'm a huge advertising executive. I love how elegant and business-esque the whole line is -- and the occasional pops of color! Brilliant.

cloning, cameras, & balls - oh my!

I've just finished reading two passages for my writing class that were both about cloning. It's definitely interesting stuff. I haven't looked enough into the matter, but I'm now intrigued enough to do some work on my own. However, the work my professor has asked of us was quite honestly too extensive and I'm refusing to do it. We are supposed to pre-read (ask questions regarding the subject matter that we know before we start to read), close-read (make notes, annotations, etc.), and post-read (paraphrase and summarize both with parenthetical citations). The intention is to start interesting discussion in class, however I feel that the amount of work suggested would not be worth the effort without a grade. I know I'll be fine with discussion in class simply because I've done debate and I know how to make ideas without having to write essays beforehand. Perhaps the method will be great for those who cannot do this. I just know it would be a waste of my time.

The time I'm saving from not doing this, however, will be devoted to my first project in my drawing class. It is Drawing I, so it's very basic, but I've never taken a classical drawing class. I've allowed myself to become too abstract. Anyway, the assignment is to contrast light and dark with objects (still life, of course) using charcoal. I've always loved charcoal, so the practice assignments were a lot of fun for me. I got too ballsy, though, last class. I attempted to draw a skull on 18" x 24" 80 lb. paper. That was dumb. They're ridiculously complex. The endeavor was far too much for me. I'm determined to draw a skull well one day, but it will definitely take an immense amount of practice. I'm resorting to a decorative arrangement that I have in my dorm: a white bowl with two vintage cameras and nasty decorative balls. :]

When I first saw this bike all I could think was, "Hello. You're mine." It's Abici's Granturismo Donna model. I photoshopped the basket in because I love it as well. Taylor got her bike stolen over the break because she's lazy and didn't feel like locking it up properly. I'm going to give her mine once I get a new one. If it's not this particular bike for the time being, then I swear I will it this one someday -- basket included.

I've just returned to my dorm from my first French class. I'm more than excited about it simply because I'm determined to speak the language fluently before I graduate. I left feeling Parisian; the cold weather, my huge scarf, and my cigarette (all of which is complete normalcy) only enhanced the feeling.

I plan to sit at my laptop listening to Yann Tiersen (feeling the cold breeze from my open window all the while) until my last class at 11:00. Afterwards, I'm heading home to see my favorites. I have a feeling that today is going to be great -- an ideal precursor to a splendid weekend.

Thank you, MLK Jr, for "having a dream" because it's going to give my weekend one extra day. Okay, that sounded terrible, but my intention was to be sincere. I promise.

when late nights become early mornings

Well, guess who's finally back in Conway? I've missed being here a lot more than I thought I would. I've only been back for a few hours, but I'm already getting a whiff of the new semester. I'm more than excited about my classes! My other major has finally been scheduled and I'll be able to do some artwork again. I can't believe it's been so long since I've done an art piece. I simply hope that it doesn't take too long for me to get back into it. I'm sure I'm ridiculously rusty. Aghh.

The past few days have been very productive. I'm proud of myself really. I've had a huge iTunes cleansing that's included updating, decongesting, filling in of albums, organization, etc. I'm not even close to being finished. I'm only at the end of the A's now and I've been going at it for two days. I'm not quite sure how much I'll actually be able to do to it after classes start, though.

Hmm... I think I'll go thrifting/antiquing tomorrow. It sounds like a good idea. I haven't completely hit that scene of Conway yet. Hopefully it'll be another productive day (and by "tomorrow" I actually mean "today" because it is most certainly 4:00 AM).

I have decided to begin reading more. I enjoy it way too much not to do so and it's more productive than watching too many episodes of Sex and the City on repeat. Also, I have a wonderful boy who has decided to pursue a pseudo book club with me, which is going to be amazingly motivating. We're starting out with Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis, which I've actually been reading off and on for about three years now. That's how bad it's gotten! I have certainly read many books over the course of the three years; I've just never been able to bring myself to finish it. Perhaps my life will find a deeper meaning at this time than it would have in the past.

Well, I suppose that's all for now! I've got to start updating more.

such a long time

Upon coming home, I've had very little time for the internet let alone blogging. So many things have happened in the past week... It's become a whole new year; I'm now the only one out of my four best friends who has a license (due to bad luck on New Year's); the bipolar weather is completely confusing my wardrobe mentality; I'm single...

The changes are quite overwhelming really, but I'm doing what I can. I had a great day with my best friends today despite the fact that I'm practically a chauffeur, but I don't mind. Things are finally reverting back to the way they were -- back when we were all so happy. I'm really anxious to see what the future will hold for all of us.

I'll be updating with some pictures from today. I haven't the time to upload them at the moment, but I definitely will be doing so very soon. I apologize for not updating my last post with the promised pictures, but I my dad never scanned them.

Regardless, Happy New Year, everyone! It's 2009, already? Wow.

Well, Merry Christmas! I'm still in Georgia at my father's house. Spending Christmas Day here is always quite interesting. We open presents ridiculously early because the two children (my 12-year-old brother and stepsister) always wake up at 6AM. Today was very different, though; they woke me up around 8AM and we watched The Grinch until the parents finally came out of their room. Also, the presents were less magnificent than usual. I'm not referring to mine (because my Christmas's have been practically indistinguishable for years now) -- I'm talking about the kids' presents. They normally have countless new toys that they gawk over for a few following weeks, but this year is totally different; they got clothing, practical electronics (digital cameras and cell phones), and money. I know they're twelve (and I definitely stopped receiving toys as gifts way before then), but it's just strange to have to accept that realization. Not only this, though, but my dad decided to pull out old pictures of the family before breakfast. I forgot how adorable my brother was before he became the obnoxious little tyrant that he is. I have a few pictures to post actually, but I'll have to do it at a later date.

Well, here I am, sitting in Columbus, Georgia at Starbucks. I really love the architecture of the ceiling, so I took a picture with my laptop.

So, the reason that I'm here is to visit my dad and this side of my family for the holidays. The original plan to get here was to fly (in my mom's fiancé's plane, not commercially). So, I made the drive here yesterday. It was about a nine hour drive, but it took much longer than that. It's an interesting story really... My mom and her fiancé followed me the entire way. They even brought our dog Fran (who is a greyhound for those of you who don't know). It was ridiculous. It's not that my mom didn't trust my driving and navigation skills; she simply didn't know what the drive was going to be like. Luckily it's not bad at all and actually quite beautiful! I just hope that on the drive home that I won't be tortured by only four hours of sleep and caffeine jitters... OH! I forgot to mention that my 12-year-old brother will be with me. That will be, um, fun.

The thing is, he is wonderful. He's incredibly bright and can easily keep up with me conversationally, but he's still in that "in-between" stage of child and teenager. I could call it puberty, but I don't want to think of my little brother that way!

I'm ready for Christmas -- not just to receive much needed/wanted gifts, but to give things to others as well. I always get such joy watching a carefully selected gift being received so happily. Perhaps that's how everyone feels, but I've never heard anyone admit it out loud.

It's so strange that it's that time of the year again. So many things have changed over the year, however it's gone by ridiculously fast. I can't help but to reminisce all that was going this time last year. It's quite depressing really. It was a great time in my life. I don't at all wish to demean how things are currently, but I do believe that I was happier then. Don't be worried by that statement, though! I'm generally a happy person, so being a little less than par isn't really a detriment... I suppose.

I didn't intend for this blog to be so odd. I want to read. NO! I want to make pictures.

I'm going to go take a bath. A wise man by the name of Jay Michael Calhoun once said these words: "No day could be any worse after taking a bath." Let's not disappoint!

Marly and I have been doing photoshoots regularly since I've been home.

It's quite wonderful actually. I've been neglecting my LOOKBOOK.

Well, there was an ice storm yesterday, but it's practically gone today. That's just Arkansas, though: We never have ice-related anything last for more than two days. It was really interesting last night, though. Jay and I were going about 15 mph on the interstate, and it didn't matter at all. Everyone else was doing the same. It took us about 30 minutes to get to my house from downtown and it usually takes about 10. It was nice to be able to laugh about how slow everyone was going rather than get ridiculously frustrated.

I'm still not completely embracing the break to the fullest extent. I need to be more productive, so I've decided to paint my mom something for Christmas. I haven't quite figured out what exactly I'll do just yet, but I'm sure I'll log the progress. Now I'm leaving for Marly's! It's so wonderful to be able to hang out with my best friend everyday. I'll end on that note.

it's finals week. i have a lot of studying to do. luckily i only have four exams: one on tuesday at 2, two on wednesday at 8 and 2, and one on thursday at 8. after that, it's house away! i'll be packing in between studying and taking my finals. i'm more than happy to sacrifice the time, though.

tonight i'm spending quality time with my amazing best friend, marly.

1. the offer on the house was accepted! we should have it in two weeks. i'm so excited!
2. i stayed up all night working on a paper that i thought i wasn't going to get to turn in because i was late to class, but she accepted it!
3. i met with my advisor this morning and scheduled my classes. i declared my other major and my advisor said that i was incredibly smart for being both a print journalism and graphic design major. they will compliment each other and i won't have to worry about staying in school longer. on top of that, i'll have an advantage over simply graphic design majors because of the journalism aspect. i'll more than likely have a job before i graduate with my undergrad.
4. a few minutes ago, taylor said, "i just touched a pig in my pocket and it made me happy."

today has been a splendid day.
now it will be shit on by the yearbook deadline tonight.

So, my parents made an offer on the desired house today! I've been looking forward to this for so long that I've already begun shopping for things. Here's a few items on my Christmas Wish List from Anthropologie:

This is the Cirrus Duvet Set in creme. It's hard to see the details, but it's basically what a typical down feather comforter would look like, but it has this beautiful roused detailing. I added a picture of the shams for more detail.

I love these chairs and they would all look so great at this house.

I am in dire need of a desk. This one is perfect. I love the simplistic design and it's size.

Of course, I'll need a shower curtain. These two are beautiful.

This rug is wonderful as well! I was thinking this would be great in a large size for the dining room or the upstairs den.

I love these towels! They're called "sculpted bath linens." Perfection...

Oh! There's one more thing that I'm dying for from Pottery Barn.

AHH! I need this chair in my life.

I'm sure there's more that I'll end up wanting -- or more so needing. I just really hope that we we get this house. It's so unique. I wish I would have taken pictures when I looked at it today.

Now I have a lot of schoolwork to attend to. This break has not been as ideal as I'd hoped.

The title of this post is completely irrelevant to it's contents other than the fact that i am drawing nearer and nearer to Thanksgiving break. I am more than ready for time away from school and the much needed time spent with family (and friends, too).

The only thing keeping me from going home right this minute is a test in College Algebra at 2:40. I loathe the class, but luckily I understand the material this time. I'm hoping for at least a B... or a C. It will probably be the latter. My teacher is honestly the WORST.

So, I had a HUGE scare today. I thought that my wallet (with my student I.D., my driver's license, my key to my dorm, and my debit card in it) fell out of my purse in the cafeteria. I had to wait for Taylor to get out of class, so I could check the dorm. I had already told my mom and everything, but it luckily had gotten into my notebook somehow when it was in my bag. GOD. More than anything, I just can't believe how relaxed my mom was about it. She just said, "It's okay! It happens to everyone. We can take care of it. Just don't let it stress you out and distract you from your test!" You would think that the child would be more apathetic and the parent would be the unnerved, but once you get older, things change, I suppose! All that matters now is that I got it back. I am so incredibly relieved.

Now I have to go take that fucking test. AGH!

So, Cool Shoes was Friday. It has gotten a lot more popular since it's earlier days. There were probably 300 people there at one point. It was a little ridiculous actually. If you were dancing, it was extremely difficult to move. There were a lot of people just standing around or bumping and grinding into you. It was very frustrating. We only stayed an hour and a half, but it was nonetheless amazingly wonderful. I got to see a lot of people that I love and have missed.

Other than that, I had a very relaxing weekend (for myself as planned).

I have a full night of studying and other work ahead of me. I'm so reluctant to begin. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving break, though! I just hate that we're only out Wed-Fri rather than the whole week.

In other good news, my mom and her fiance are coming to look at the house we've been wanting on Wednesday. I really hope that we get it soon. I don't think I will be able to handle living on campus that much longer!

yes. i am currently reading a book called The Greatest Thing in the World by Henry Drummond. i am almost positive that no one has heard of it simply because it was written in the 30's. it's actually one of those old books you would find at an antique shop. it's 41 pages long, but is incredibly dense and has already impacted my views on the matter. i found it at the Cox Arts Center downtown one day. i read the intro and fell in love with it. Jay obviously saw that and had to buy it for me (and he is absolutely wonderful for doing so).

basically, this book argues that love is the most important need simply because every other need is a sub-category and a result of love. it's surprisingly modern considering it was written in the 30's. if anyone would like to read it, just let me know! it's quick and very intriguing. more than anything, i was surprised to find that i do follow practically every quality in a person that is filled with love.

i never really thought about it, but i absolutely love everyone. that's why i end up being so busy. i'm always trying to please everyone (not that i'm complaining). however, someone did present me with the idea of taking some time for myself. that's why i plan to do everything this weekend with myself in mind. i'm not committing myself to do anything just because someone wants me to. i will do it for the simple enjoyment of doing it for myself and myself alone. i haven't painted in too long, so i'm going to spend time on saturday doing that. i may even go sit in a park alone and take pictures. as lonely as that all may sound, i'm really looking forward to it. thank you, Tori, for calling it healthy because i was thinking it was a little selfish for a while.

well, on another note, tonight is the Free Micah show at UCA! Jay hardly ever comes to Conway anymore, so i'm quite excited about being able to watch his amazing band and hang out with all of them for a while (before returning to my strenuous study load).
